Partnership in Rajasthan
During our trip to Jaipur, India, we had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting Sumatee Bishnoi, a Supreme Court lawyer and a volunteer for 20 years at the school Rajasthan Netraheen Kalyan Sangh for blind children and adults.
The school offers free training as well as accommodation for blind youth, providing them with a suitable environment to learn and thrive.
It also offers specialized courses for adults, focusing on acquiring new computer skills through adapted audio software. These training programs enable them to access better job opportunities and pursue an active and fulfilling career.

The school not only provides training but also takes responsibility for placing students within the government or well-known private sectors. In fact, a number of students have already been placed in banks, private companies, and multinational corporations.
Smile Burma made a donation to this school to purchase more computers, thus initiating a partnership in the land of colors.
We thank all participants and volunteers for their donations and support!

Colourful Flowers – Heart of Youth
Located an hour and fifteen minutes by car from Yangon, this school is in a remote village home to more than 4,000 inhabitants living in approximately 500 houses.
Despite the presence of government and monastic schools, many children remain out of school. Until recently, no child had access to preschool education.
In 2015, the construction of a building dedicated to early childhood education gave 32 children aged 3 to 5 the opportunity to receive appropriate schooling.
This school provides non-formal education for children from Monday to Friday while offering weekend classes for teenagers and adults over 15 years old.
The school also plays a crucial role in raising awareness among parents by organizing sessions on children’s rights and the fight against violence against women

In this school, we installed air conditioning on both floors to provide better learning conditions for students and teachers, as the temperature inside the building was extremely high.
We also provided furniture and school supplies for each child.
Our ambition was to expand the school to accommodate more children, but unfortunately, due to the civil war, this project is currently on hold. We hope to resume it as soon as the situation allows.

Yellow generation Wave
Yellow Generation Wave is an orphanage in Mandalay where over 500 children live.
Volunteers provide them with food, clothing, emotional support, and education.
Unfortunately, they have to leave this place because it is too small and there are roadworks nearby. The owner has asked them to leave within a year.
They have already acquired a 7-acre plot of land (1 acre = 4046.85 m²), but they have no donors to help build the facility.

The Youth Development Programme
The Youth Development Program created by Dr. Ne Win has been in existence since 2004. Its goal is to implement training for young people aged 15 to 24 to promote access to healthcare and information on HIV prevention.
There are three main types of training:
– Basic knowledge of reproduction for adolescents and the acquisition of certain skills (critical thinking, good attitude, etc.) << 4 days (two weekends).
– Train-the-trainer program (communication and education skills) << 3 days.
– Leadership, team spirit development, and skills to lead a group and inform their peers within their respective communities.
Unfortunately, there is not enough funding to offer this training. They need $8,419.57 USD per year to cover the costs.
After the training, students can earn a Seven Star Badge if they follow the seven behaviors:
– Balanced diet.
– Daily exercise.
– Time management for balance.
– No tobacco.
– No alcohol.
– No drugs.
– No risky sex.
The opening of Myanmar increases risks for young people, which is why this training is very important.

Phaung Daw Oo
This place was founded in 1993 by a monk named U Nayaka, whom we are proud to have met.
It provides free private education for children who have dropped out of school due to their families’ financial situation.
It is an independent, non-governmental school that particularly targets children from poor families (both rural and urban), orphans, abused or neglected children, children from different poor ethnic groups, abandoned children, and those who could not attend public schools for various reasons.
The school offers access to formal education for children from kindergarten to secondary school, with a curriculum accredited by the government.
Boys and girls attend classes, and enrollment is not biased toward any specific religion, and no fees are charged.
Currently, 309 teachers and other staff provide education to 7,983 students.
The funding for the teachers’ salaries comes from donations.

The Manchester United Fan Group
This is a school without a roof or walls, founded in 2014 in a village in a hard-to-reach area. There are 197 students with one permanent teacher and five temporary teachers.
Former students are starting to teach the new students.
During the holidays, they are welcomed into a monastery where they receive monastic education.
To build a school building, a 60×90 feet plot of land has been given to them by monks.
They plan to have 11 classrooms.
Now, they need funds to be able to build this school !
