Partnership with Green Vientiane – Together for a More Sustainable Laos
During our mission in Vientiane, we had the chance to meet Minasi Armstrong, a Swiss woman who has been living in the capital since July. Attentive to our project, she spontaneously connected us with several key contacts, including Serge Doussantousse, director of the company Green Vientiane. This meeting, initially started online, was followed by a very fruitful in-person exchange.
Green Vientiane : a Shared Project for the Planet
Green Vientiane is an initiative committed to fighting plastic pollution. It works with local industries to reduce plastic use, develop sustainable alternatives, and raise community awareness about environmental issues. One of its flagship projects currently focuses on collaborating with the Association Of Capital Drinking Water Factory, which brings together over 300 plastic producers across the 9 districts of Vientiane. The objectives are to:
- Raise awareness among producers about the impact of plastic on health and the environment;
- Identify concrete solutions to improve recycling and reduce pollution;
- Add value to plastic waste to generate new income instead of burning it;
- Implement awareness tools (posters, information) in each company;
- Distribute suitable bins to organize waste collection.
